Introduction...

A vacancy for a Retail Centre Assistant at our Middelburg Retail Centre, reporting to the Retail Centre Supervisor. The purpose of the job is to provide administrative housekeeping and operational support to the Middelburg Retail Centre to ensure the achievement of Retail Centre goals.

Minimum Requirements...

The successful applicant should be in possession of a matric certificate with a good background in Inventory and/or Sales.

 A valid Code 08 driver's license as well as a Forklift driver's license are requirements for this position.

 We are looking for an energetic, innovative and results orientated person with a proven track record. Further competencies required include employee development & empowerment, customer focus, functional & technical competency, and personal development.

Job Specification...

The key areas of responsibility include:

 

  • Serve walk-in customers to achieve maximum sales
  • Respond to telephonic customer calls
  • Maintain the image of the centre to standard at all times
  • Deal with customers in a professional and responsive manner at all times
  • Deal with telephone customers in a courteous and efficient manner at all times
  • Assist with loading merchandise/cylinders for customers
  • Build and maintain of displays
  • Keep shelves and point of sale stocked according to Centre Supervisors' instruction
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of sales promotions
  • Utilise resources and assets cost effectively to maximise centre profits
  • Carry out banking as instructed by the Retail Centre Supervisor
  • Perform administrative duties in accordance with company systems, policies and procedures 
  • Assist with welding products and cylinder inventory control
  • Adhere to inventory control procedures
  • File documents to meet auditors' requirements
  • Adhere to all statutory and safety requirements
  • Report and initiate corrective action for any safety risks
  • Maintain a safe and clean sales centre
  • Adhere to security procedures
  • Responsible for Cadac and other LPG filling according to Company standards
  • Maintain housekeeping at the required standard
  • Assist Operations Supervisor with the SHEQ processes for the branch
